Rolle Castle

Among the numerous fortified castles that lined the banks of Lake Geneva through the Middle Ages, Rolle Castle is one of the most mysterious, at least with regard to its origin and the history of its construction. It was erected extremely close to the water and previously protected on the city side by moats.
